| Stage 0 Colon Cancer Treatment 
 Treatment for colon cancer stage 0 ( carcinoma in situ) may include the following types of surgery :
 
 · Local excision , which is surgery to remove the colon cancer without cutting through the abdominal wall.
 
 · A polyp , which is surgery to remove the tissue sample of large bowel cancer .
 
 · The resection / anastomotic is a surgical procedure that removes colon cancer by taking a section of colon , and re-attach the ends of the colon.
 
 This procedure is performed when the cancerous tissue is too large to eliminate local excision .
 
 Treatment for colon cancer stage I
 
 Processing stage colon cancer resection I usually / anastomotic (removal of colon cancer by joining the ends of the colon) because of cancerous tissue is usually too large to be removed by this time local excision .
 
 Treatment for colon cancer stage II

 · Chemotherapy .
 
 · Clinical trials of chemotherapy or biologic therapy .
 
 · Radiation therapy can be offered to some patients as palliative ( to relieve symptoms ) .
 
 Treatment of colon cancer or recurrent cancer cells
 
 Treatment of recurrent colon cancer depends on whether the cancer has recurred ( come back ) and the general health of the patient. Treatment of recurrent colon cancer may include the following:
 
 · Surgery to remove the cancer may have spread to the liver , lungs or ovaries .
 
 · Surgery to remove the cancer cells that were repeated in the colon.
 
 · Radiation therapy as palliative therapy .
 
 · Chemotherapy as palliative therapy .
 
 · Clinical trials of biological therapy or chemotherapy.
